SINGAPORE – A maid who had an event with her employer’s father and had consensual sex with him on dual occasions later lied to a police, claiming that a male had raped her.
The justice listened that Sumaini, who goes by usually one name, done a fake claim anticipating that it would assistance her lapse to Indonesia – something that her employer did not let her do.
The 29-year-old Indonesian was condemned to 14 days’ jail on Wednesday (May 15) after revelation that she had given fake information to a military officer trustworthy to a Serious Sexual Crime Branch of a Criminal Investigation Department.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Gregory Gan pronounced that a man’s mother alerted a military on Feb 7, saying that Sumaini had been “sexually abused”.
The lady accompanied Sumaini to Police Cantonment Complex for an interview, and a lassie told a policeman during around 6pm that her employer’s father had raped her on Jan 15.
Officers arrested a male about 45 mins after and he was taken to a lock-up during a complex.
The DPP pronounced that after recording Sumaini’s statement, a policeman checked her mobile phone and detected content messages exchanged on Facebook Messenger between a lassie and her employer’s husband.
These messages enclosed one from Sumaini saying that she missed a man, and suggested that they were in a relationship.
The policeman confronted Sumaini with a messages and she finally came purify during around 10pm. The male was expelled about an hour later.
The DPP told District Judge Luke Tan: “The indicted certified that she motionless to tell a law after being confronted with a Facebook messages.
“She pronounced that she lied about a rape claim since she wanted to lapse to Indonesia though (the man’s wife) refused to concede her to do so.”
On Wednesday, DPP Gan urged a decider to judgment Sumaini to between 10 days and dual weeks’ jail, stressing that an trusting male had to spend time in a lock-up since of her lies.
The maid, who was unrepresented, pronounced that she was repentant and had realised her mistake.
For giving fake information to a police, she could have been jailed for adult to a year and fined adult to $5,000.
